#blogbookaday: Frankie

FrankieSummary:  “Frankie is EXCITED! A new home? A new bed? A new ball? But wait. Nico is already here.

Nico’s home. Nico’s bed. Nico’s ball.
Sharing is hard . . .   Will Frankie find a place here too?
Follow two pups with big personalities as they struggle to get along and find their places in the pack.” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: Frankie found a new home! The only problem? Nico already lives here! This is an adorable story of two dogs trying to figure out where they fit in and what belongs to them. It’s a perfect story for introducing a new member of the family whether a baby or pet and told mostly from the dogs’ perspective, kids will giggle at his constantly wagging tail as he explores his new home.
Personal Reaction: I adopted by own adorable pup, Aria, from a shelter or shelter dogs have a special place in my heart. Every once in awhile I think about getting Aria a friend, but she’s quite the handful so I think we’ll stick with just her for now! I loved how the story was told in thought bubbles from each of the dogs’ perspective and how difficult it can be to let someone else into your home and share your space and toys. If you like Frankie, check out Mary’s other dog books including Ball and Treat.

#blogbookaday (1)This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
