#blogbookaday: Where Is Bear?

Where Is Bear?.jpgSummary:  “Perfect for fans of the classic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, this adventurous and endearing picture book follows a little boy searching high and low for his missing bear. Features a surprise ending!
Where is Bear?
Is Bear in the dresser?
Is Bear in the bathroom?
Is Bear on the swing?
It’s almost bedtime, and a little boy can’t seem to find his beloved Bear! Children will love joining in the irresistible search for Bear and finding where he is on every page…and they will love the surprise ending even more!” (Taken from Goodreads)

Review: A little boy searches all over the house for his beloved bear and can’t seem to find it anywhere! Kids will love being in on the joke as a big, fluffy bear is somewhere on each page that the protagonist doesn’t see, but the reader can! That is, until the ending which was an adorable surprise and one I didn’t expect! Kids will absolutely adore this book!

Personal Reaction: I love reading to a group of kids when you’ve got a book where as the reader, you know something the protagonist doesn’t know. A great example of this is Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathmann and this book has the same feel. Kids will be yelling, “There he is!” as you flip each page, until you get to the end and then they’ll be surprised (which is awesome)! This would make a great read aloud for preschool and Kindergarten kids who don’t mind acknowledging that they might still have a beloved stuffy at home.

#blogbookaday (1)This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
