#blogbookaday: Truck, Truck, Goose!

Truck, Truck, Goose!Summary:  “Truck…truck…truck… Will Goose ever get to have his picnic?
Goose is all packed for a picnic. Now all he has to do is cross the little road in front of his cottage.
With bold and bright illustrations from Zoe Waring and familiar, sparse text from Tammi Sauer, Truck, Truck, Goose is perfect for any kid who’s ever enjoyed the game duck, duck, goose!” (Taken from Goodreads)

Review: A somewhat oblivious goose is heading out for a picnic with all the picnic essentials and  a piano. But, the road is jam packed with trucks… will Goose ever be able to get to picnic spot? And what happens when piano gets stuck in the middle of the road?

Personal Reaction: The simple text in this book makes it great for independent toddlers and preschoolers who want to read the story to you. The play on words (like the game duck, duck, goose) makes for a cute storyline and the cute little surprise at the end will have even the adults smiling. This is the perfect story to share with a small group of kids who can help you read it aloud and then you must play a game of duck, duck, goose afterward… it’s basically a requirement!

#blogbookaday (1)This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
