19Day 7: A MG Book That Celebrates Family

Title: The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street
Editor: Karina Yan Glaser
Publisher: HMH Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: October 3, 2017
Page Number: 297 pgs.
Description from Goodreads:
“The Vanderbeekers have always lived in the brownstone on 141st Street. It’s practically another member of the family. So when their reclusive, curmudgeonly landlord decides not to renew their lease, the five siblings have eleven days to do whatever it takes to stay in their beloved home and convince the dreaded Beiderman just how wonderful they are. And all is fair in love and war when it comes to keeping their home.”
Thoughts: I loved this family and would have immediately felt at home with the scheming kids and sweet parents. I think spending the holidays with the Vanderbeekers is exactly what I want to do – open the doors to your friends and neighbors and enjoy the time together!
