Picture Book Month: Grandparents

23
This is the sweet story of Mei Mei and her beloved Gong Gong (or grandfather). Gong Gong is practicing tai chi in the garden one day when Mei Mei asks to join in, but Mei Mei’s high energy isn’t exactly suited for clam and quiet Tai Chi. But, them Mei Mei teaches Gong Gong a few yoga poses – and old grandfather can’t do the poses exactly right. In the end, this is the story of a grandfather and granddaughter learning from each other and spending time together. Sylvia Liu won the Lee & Low New Voices Award for this manuscript and you can definitely see why in this beautiful story!
