Toddler Storytime – Summer Week #1

24 Jun

17367509This was my first storytime for the summer and it started with very few people.  But, by the end I had a huge, lively crowd (at least 25 kids) plus the adults and their siblings. It wasn’t a bad storytime as far as talking, crying, and not listening… there were just a lot of kids that had a lot of energy.  Baby Bear Sees Blue was a little too long to start with I think, but the kids absolutely loved Bang!  They loved yelling “BANG!” and seeing what happened next.  It definitely held their attention and they stared at the last page looking at all the different characters.  They also loved “Zoom, Zoom, Zoom” which I’ll be doing each week, so they can use it at home too!

Opening: “Put Your Hands Up In the Air”

Puppet Meet & Greet: Meet Woolly (monkey puppet)

ASL Sign: Bear – cross your arms in front of your chest and scratch at your shoulders

Early Literacy Tip: Books with few or no words are great ways to encourage your child’s vocabulary!  Read the story together a couple of times so you don’t miss anything!
