Murder Mystery Party
Our library is going to host a murder mystery party for our Junior Friends group in January. The Junior Friends of the Library is a community service organization for 5th – 8th grade students in the local community. We’re lucky to have a strong group of about 30 kids throughout the school year.
We’re going to be using a game called The Cracks in the Wall which can be used for up to 25 students. They work together to gather clues and decide who the killer is from a list of suspects. It’s nice because the whole program comes in a box and you just need a few props to make it work. This is the website http://www.dbldog.com/index.html where I found the game and there are a few other options as well.
We’re planning on breaking the kids up into groups and giving small prizes for the teams that can solve the case. We’ll also be servings snacks, because that alone will bring kids into the library. I’ll post again in January after the event to update you on how well it worked.
