Storytime Theme: Letter P
We’re continuing to truck along through the alphabet and we’re already on the letter P! Today’s lesson plan was a really simple plan to pull together because there are so many great letter p words for kids. And they’re really fun words too – like pizza, penguin, pink, pigs, pumpkins, pillows, and more! And this, like the other letters as storytime themes can be used as a whole or broken down into individual theme’s like patterns, picnic, playground, and poetry.
What I’m loving through these alphabet themes is that there are really so many different ways to approach the letter and ways to make it a theme while being a little more free to choose different books and subjects all in one storytime. I also love that you can use this theme for toddlers, preschoolers, or even in a Kindergarten classroom by adjusting the book selection. It’s a great way to encourage early literacy skills in a fun and accessible way for kids.
