9 Picture Books that Celebrate Hair

My hair is probably the longest it’s been since I was five or six years old. It’s only this long for two reasons, one – my sister’s wedding in June (it’s so much easier to style when you have more to style) and two – COVID. I’ve been trying to not go out to too many places, including the hairdresser. My hair is a blessing and a curse, it’s curly and wavy and does what it wants most of the time. It honestly probably took me until college to really understand how to work with my hair instead of fighting it constantly. The most important things about curly hair – moisturizing and no brushing!

I’ve definitely got to cut my hair sooner rather than later – the ends are really dry and I’ve had enough of it getting everywhere. I’ll probably have them cut it to my shoulders, knowing that my curls will shrink and hover somewhere between my shoulders and chin. The problem is that everyone has commented on how much they love my hair long and I’m ready to chop it all off!
