It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 8/23/2021
What I Read
Although I tried to take a little time off this past week, it wasn’t as successful as I had hoped! With limited staff and a lot going on at work, I still had to answer emails, phone calls, and more. Plus, both my partner and I were under the weather this week, thankfully we both tested negative for COVID, so that was a relief, but I didn’t get as much reading done as I wanted.
I finished up Siege & Storm by Leigh Bardugo. I also read Strong as Fire, Fierce as Flame by Supriya Kelkar a middle grade novel set in 1857 India during the time when the British colonized India. With themes of freedom, courage, and finding your voice, this was a powerful story!
I also read The Read-Aloud Family by Sarah Mackenzie. I’m always interested to hear about how different authors share the importance of reading aloud. Written in a very familiar tone, similar to that of a blog post, Sarah shares how to become a read-aloud family. This would be a really great read for homeschooling families but has plenty of information for busy families on the go.
What I’m Planning to Read
Well, I’ve got the final title in the Shadow and Bone trilogy to read which will probably take a little while. And then I definitely want to read Last Night at the Telegraph Hotel by Malinda Lo. It’s sitting on my nightstand waiting patiently for me to find some room in my reading life.
