Storytime Theme: Bicycles
This is a little different in terms of storytimes, because I think it would best suit preschoolers and even early elementary school age. I think if you chose carefully, you could still create a solid toddler plan, but I think the subject matter lends itself more for a little bit older audience of kids who are learning how to ride a bike with training wheels or are practicing without the training wheels.
I loved riding my bike as a kid and while I don’t ride as much anymore (the streets are too busy near my house), I still enjoy it when I do jump on my bike. When I was a kid though, we used to ride all over town , through the park, to rent a movie, to the library, the playground, you name it, we probably rode there! Some weekends, my parents would get us all organized and we’d go on family ride together which was just so fun. So, I have a soft spot in my heart for a bicycle-themed storytime and the joy riding can be for kids and families!
