2025 Blogging A to Z Challenge: Insects

It’s a creepy-crawly book list for you today! And while, I’m not afraid of insects, I don’t want to see them in my house and can take care of them when they do find their way indoors (usually by scooping them up and taking them back outdoors!). But, I do remember spending countless evenings as a child chasing after lightning bugs in the backyard. And even now, we’ve had a couple of butterfly events at the library and I do find them fascinating!

I think teaching kids about the dangers of some bugs and insects is important, but I also want kids to be able to maybe not embrace, but to at least accept that they’ll encounter bugs almost anywhere they go and they don’t necessarily need to be afraid of them either. These nonfiction titles help to show nervous kids about all the amazing things bugs can do for us and help budding entomologists increase their knowledge!
