2025 Blogging A to Z April Challenge: Theme Reveal
Can you believe April is around the corner already?!?!?! Spring is almost h ere and I’ve got daffodils poking through my garden beds. Although I love seeing flowers everywhere, I also love April because it’s the Blogging A to Z Challenge month!
This will be my 10th year participating in the Blogging A to Z Challenge and I’ll be honest, it can be difficult coming up with a new theme every year. Especially one that will work as part of my blog and one that I can easily think of words for the letters J, K, Q, and Z! But, I’m excited for this year’s theme as it’s something a little different, but something I’m really excited to highlight this year!
Previous Years’ Themes
If you’re interested in past years, check out the reflection post which has links to every letter for each year.

- 2023 – Books for Every Reader
- 2022 – Tips for Reaching Reluctant Readers
- 2021 – Early Literacy Tips
- 2020 – Books & Cooks
- 2019 – Diverse Books
- 2018 – Programming
- 2017 – Leadership Traits
- 2016 – Storytime Themes
26 additional posts on top of all the writing I already do for the blog is daunting, especially because each post takes time to write and plan and they all have to fall under a general theme (at least how I do it). But, I think this year’s theme is not only really exciting, but one that I think will help teachers, librarians, parents, and caregivers, especially this summer!
Theme Reveal
This year’s theme will be Fact Finders Club: Nonfiction for Curious Kids! Each letter of the alphabet will focus on a specific aspect or theme and will highlight nonfiction titles for kids and teens. I love nonfiction books for kids because they are created in such an accessible way that encourages learning and discovery and allows curious kids to find information in a fun way. No matter what your readers’ interests are, there is sure to be some great nonfiction suggestions that will engage your reader. For kids who already love to read, giving them nonfiction allows them to explore a new type of reading. And for kids who may find reading to be a little more difficult or are reluctant to read fiction stories, may find that nonfiction is a niche that they enjoy!
Be sure to stop back in April for some great reading suggestions!

Non-fiction for children has come so far since I was a child in the ’60s! I am even impressed with textbooks! Much more colorful, interesting, and friendly. My children were home schooled part of their school years (1 – 8th to graduation, 2 – Pre-K – 8, 3 – Pre-K – 6, then back until graduation) so we had so many non-fiction books around. I still have some of them. I look forward to your posts.

I read nonfiction a lot. I buy extra newspapers for their feature articles. My theme is at https://artmater.com/blogging-from-a-to-z-april-challenge-2025
