Storytime Theme: Hot & Cold
Today is a storytime lesson plan all about opposites and it’s a perfect one for today as the temperature has plummeted where I live and it’s been quite cold over the past few days. I’m remembering again why I dislike the winter – I hate being cold! But, this frigid temperature works perfectly for a storytime all about the opposites of hot and cold.
Share a mixture of hot and cold books, songs, rhymes, and activities to create an awesome storytime that’s not only about opposites, but also a STEM program that you could easily make its focus. You can even focus on one temperature or the other depending on the time of year. So, don’t hesitate to embrace science at the preschool level – it doesn’t have to be scary! Use this lesson plan as a starting point and find what works for you.
