Storytime Theme: Fairy Tales
This is such a fun storytime that can introduce young kids to classic fairy tales they may be unfamiliar with. And in this instance, the classic fairy tales are typically European fairy tales and folk tales. But, I might need to try this lesson plan with some additional fairy tales from around the world.
With so many variations and fractured versions of fairy tales this lesson plan can go in a lot of different directions. You could try focusing on just one story with a bunch of different variations or different stories all by the same author/illustrator. I’d also probably note, that this storytime would most likely work best with a little older audience than usual. Fairy tale stories tend to be a little longer and harder for young kids to pay attention to. I’d say that preschool and even early elementary school age kids would be best for this lesson plan. Pair this lesson plan with a nursery rhyme storytime for a fun-filled storytime!
