Storytime Theme: Letter “B”
This was a really easy lesson plan to create – apparently there are A LOT of great words that start with the letter “b” for toddlers and preschoolers! Whether you decide to focus on just one theme or use a little bit of everything, this is a great introduction to the second letter of the alphabet. Being able to identify the letters of the alphabet is an early literacy skill that helps children get ready to learn how to read.
You can also include practice writing letters as well which not only helps to increase early literacy but will also help kids work on fine motor skills. You can easily practice with a pencil but try big chunky crayons for little hands or tracing letter shapes in sand or shaving cream. This creates a fun learning environment for kids and adults alike!
