Storytime Theme: Flowers

A perfectly, sweet storytime all about flowers both in story form and nonfiction books! How is it in 15+ years of storytime programming, I’ve never done a flower-themed storytime? Nevertheless, this is a great storytime to combine STEM ideas with a traditional storytime lesson plan and includes both crafts and activities that incorporate flowers in some way. I only shared a handful of flower-themed books, but there are so many more books out there that you can use.

Again, I create these storytime plans that you can literally use all the parts of for your program, or you can take the parts that work best for you and fill in your own pieces that are tried and true for your audience. I always do better with having a starting point and I hope this helps you create the type of program you’re looking for. And remember, this doesn’t need to be a formal storytime at a library. These lesson plans can be used equally at preschools or even in a home environment. Extend learning beyond just reading the story out loud with songs and activities that you can do throughout the week!
