2024 Blogging A to Z Challenge: Boy Characters

It’s day two and time for the letter “B”! And while my title is a little clunky, it’s written that way on purpose. I don’t adhere to the idea that there are “boy” books and “girl” books. Rather, there are books that interest readers. And yes, I know that some books may “speak” to a specific type of reader. But why limit books to a specific reader, when there are so many books out there to try?

Today’s list includes books with boy main characters. These aren’t necessarily books for boys, but your male readers might find a title on this book list that excites them to read even more books. And that’s what it’s really about – finding great books that make kids want to read even more. These novels are fast-paced, page-turning stories that kids might love, or not. That’s the thing about reading, it’s not a one-size-fits-all situation. It can take time to find the right type of story to connect to a reader. But, once you do, it’s absolute magic!

2024 is my ninth year participating in the Blogging A to Z Challenge. This year, I chose as my theme: Adventurous Readers with a focus on providing book lists focused on all types of adventures for readers from birth to teens. Each letter of the alphabet will focus on different sub-genres or age groups and will provide twelve titles of books. This theme coincides well with the summer reading theme for many libraries which is “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and no matter what type of books the kids in your life like, there is sure to be something they’ll find interesting over the course of the month.
