Storytime Theme: Earth Day
I know, I know, this post is coming extremely early for Earth Day, but I’m doing a disservice to you when I post a themed program the same week it’s being held. There’s no way you can pivot fast enough to incorporate all the great ideas I’m offering. So, you’ll start seeing posts a few months in advance and it’s my hope you bookmark, save, or share this storytime so that you’ll remember when you do start building your Earth Day lesson plan.
This storytime offers great read alouds in both fiction and nonfiction and could easily be adapted into a more specific STEM-themed program for preschoolers or even early elementary age kids. Look for ways to incorporate more nonfiction texts as well as hands-on experiments or activities to create a fleshed out lesson plan for a STEM storytime.
