21 Middle Grade Mysteries
Some of my favorite books growing up and even now are mysteries. I’m not a huge fan of thrillers in the scary sense, but I do love the idea of solving a puzzle. And whether you’re looking for classic middle grade mysteries like From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler or The Westing Game or you’re interested in newly published titles like Wrecker or Daybreak on Raven Island there’s a little something for everyone on this list of 21 middle grade mysteries.
I love mysteries that have in-depth plots and full character development beyond the great mysteries. And whether you’re looking for a historical setting or you’re more into science fiction, you’ll be able to find mysteries in any genre. My favorite subgenre of mysteries which I found kind of by accident is art heist mysteries and if that intrigues you as much as it intrigues me, check out this Top Ten Tuesday post!
Maybe mysteries aren’t as popular to the tween age group now, but I think it would be easy to combine an escape room program with a mystery book display and you’d likely get some check outs. Or combine the display to highlight both books and movies that have a level of intrigue and mystery.
