Storytime Theme: Gardens (2023 update)
I know, gardening is typically a spring storytime theme, but there are so many great gardening books for kids, that I couldn’t resist doing a quick update for this lesson plan! I offered a few more nonfiction books than I usually do because they’re so cool! Especially the Smithsonian/DK Publishing book. Normally, this isn’t a preschool book, but you can use it to demonstrate how to use large informational books and pick out just one or two pieces of information to share! This is an easy lesson plan to lean heavily into a STEM program and wouldn’t take much more than an experiment or two.
