Storytime Theme: Chickens
How is it possible that in the years and years I’ve done storytime, I’ve never done a chicken theme? Well, I’m changing that now with these adorable chicken stories. But have no fear, if you need a few more ideas, check out this list from a few years ago that I created.
As always, I wanted to make sure to include a nonfiction choice with a whole lot of fun read aloud picture books. And I mean, really fun chicken books. Why are chicken books so fun? Because they’re just wild and crazy and fun to read.

I love your theme this week. We have 10 backyard chickens and one rooster and they are very interesting animals. They are so fun to just watch.

I just wanted to thank you so much for putting together these lists! As someone new to story time they are so incredibly helpful.
