Storytime Theme: Home
This storytime theme: home was a little tricky to pull together. At first, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find enough content, but then I realized you could really take this storytime in a lot of different directions for a lot of different age groups. I kept these suggestions for a toddler/preschool age group. But, then started thinking about how you could pull in stories about unhoused communities or even immigrants or refugees as well for an older audience. You can also take a look at my storytime plan for apartment living which includes a lot more stories about apartments if you want that to be the focus.
For today, I tried to pick out some fun and silly stories along with some other stories about homes both for humans and animals. We’re actually using the paper bag neighborhood idea for our grab and go activity this month at the library and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun for kids to create! As always, take the pieces that work best for you and your little ones and leave the rest!
