Top Ten Tuesday: New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2022

The COVID pandemic really changed my reading habits! I used to spend my time immersed in children’s literature, inhaling middle grade novels as if my life depended on it. But, during COVID, I spent so much time just trying to get through each day, it took me a really long time to find not only the time to read but also my joy in reading. I think that the whole pandemic just made me so exhausted, reading wasn’t really fun anymore.

But, I have to say, in 2022 my reading life started coming back. I felt like I could breathe a little more with the amount of work I was doing. And I was doing things I loved doing and actually taking the time to do them. Like a great romantic comedy, I have found joy in reading contemporary romance novels. They all have the same look and feel about them – bright covers with illustrated couples, a font color that is almost never black, and just a storyline that is fun. These books aren’t for thinking too hard and diving into the hidden meaning, these books are fun, often light-hearted reads that make me happy. And, I loved discovering new authors!
