Storytime Theme: Colors
A classic storytime that could go in so many directions! There are probably hundreds of books about colors for kids out there. Today, I wanted to focus on color mixing, you know, combining primary colors to create secondary colors. And I wanted to share just a few color books that weren’t your typical ones – things about colors like white or black (which I guess is technically the absence of color), but also things like gray or pink.
What I love about a great color theme is that you could also focus on just one color a week and make your way through the rainbow. Indigo might be a little harder to find, but there are some great books that focus on just one color. And there are so many activities that go along with color – paints, crayons, colored pencils, chalk – you name it, you can use it.
