Storytime Theme: Scarecrows
This theme is perfect for the fall, as the weather turns crisp and family activities include apple picking and visiting a pumpkin patch! But, you can also use the storytime theme: scarecrows for a farm-themed storytime as well, it’s totally up to you!
Apparently, scarecrow books are inherently long. This week’s theme includes a lot of books that are just longer than I would ever typically use in storytime. You’ve got a few options here – read fewer stories, cut out some pages if you can, or pair one of these books with more fall or farm themed books that are shorter. I’ve also include just a few songs and activities to go along with this theme, but remember, there is no “right” way to build a storytime. It’s all about what works for you and the kiddos. Take inspiration from this post, take the whole lot, just remember to have fun!
