20 Favorite Graphic Novels
Graphic novels are some of the most popular books in my library for kids! They absolutely LOVE them! I often think that kids fail to look beyond the perennial favorites like Raina Telegemeier and Dav Pilkey. Not to say there is anything wrong with either of these authors – they are absolutely amazing, but there are a lot of graphic novels out there for kids to explore.
A number of publishers are re-creating classics and other favorites into the graphic novel format. If you aren’t already aware, check out the Babysitter’s Club or Magic Treehouse as graphic novels. Or The Giver, The Lightning Thief, or the Wings of Fire series. Whether or not these are better than the original is not the point, it’s an access point for kids to try something new.
And speaking of new, check out these 20 graphic novels below. Many have been published in the past couple of years, a lot are part of a series, and all are a lot of fun to read! Whether your readers are just starting their journey into this specific format or are old hats, I’m sure they’re going to find something new! Chunky
