Storytime Theme: Daytime, Nighttime
I was surprised after looking through past themes that I never did a Daytime/Nighttime storytime. I’ve done plenty of bedtime themes, but nothing that compares the two! It’s definitely easier to find nighttime books over books specifically about daytime, so keep that in mind when you’re selecting titles. Daytime Nighttime by William Low is a perfect story for this theme because it takes a look at both times of the day and uses animals to help show what’s happening.
If you have an older audience and want to talk about dusk as a specific time of day, you should also check out Twilight Chant by Holly Thompson which focuses on crepuscular animals, or those animals active during dusk and dawn.
