Storytime Theme: Giraffes
This storytime is inspired by my four-year-old niece who absolutely loves giraffes! And honestly, there are some adorable picture books about giraffes out there. With their long necks, black tongues, and cute little horns, giraffes are pretty funny to look at sometimes! Authors and illustrators take advantage of their goofy looks to make some really funny books. And of course, I can’t forget to add in a little nonfiction to the mix as well – it’s a great way to introduce informational text at a young age!

Activities
- Paper Cone Giraffes – Krokotak
These are so cute and look really simple to make! You might need to help younger kids, but elementary kids should be able to do this craft themselves. - Paper Plate Giraffe – Craft Create Cook
A little more involved, this is a cute craft that you could prep ahead of time for a larger group, or have a parent help one-on-one. - Giraffe Finger Puppet – I Heart Crafty Things
I can see this being a very popular craft with little ones. Probably the hardest part would be cutting the holes for little fingers.
