Storytime Theme: Hedgehogs & Porcupines
Although not at all similar, hedgehogs and porcupines have one thing in common – they’re both prickly! These two animals seemed like the perfect pairing for a fun prickly storytime! And I’ve got a little bit of everything on this list – picture books, nonfiction, and even poetry today. And as usual, after I pulled these books together, I came across some other great stories as well, so find the books that speak to you and share them with your little ones.
This storytime could make a great extension activity before or after visiting a zoo and seeing hedgehogs or porcupines in real life. If you’re not nearby a zoo or the zoo doesn’t have either of these animals, see if you can find some videos online that show them up close! Plus with a couple of really fun songs and activities, this could be a great deep dive into some really fun animals.
