It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 12/27/2021
What I Read
I’m ending 2021 with some great books! Not to mention, a list that looks more like what I typically read (pre-pandemic, of course). Honestly, the only reason I was able to get this much reading done was because of a long couple of days in D. C. trying to get my partner’s visa processed for a work trip. And with the holidays, I was able to sneak a little bit of reading in between making lots of great food!
- Dread Nation by Justina Ireland
- The Great Stink: How Joseph Bazalgette Solved London’s Poop Pollution Problem by Colleen Paeff, illustrated by Nancy Carpenter
- The Leaf Detective: How Margaret Lowman Uncovered Secrets in the Rainforest by Heather Lang, illustrated by Jana Christy
- Niki Nakayama: A Chef’s Tale in 13 Bites by Jamie Michalak and Debbi Michiko Florence, illustrated by Yuko Jones
- Across the Desert by Dusti Bowling
- The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
What I’m Planning to Read
Although the library is closed today (yay!), I’ve got to run in and feed the turtle and empty the book drop, so I’m probably going to browse a little and find a couple of titles to keep me busy this week. As I mentioned, my partner is traveling this week, so I’m probably going to fill my evenings with doggie snuggles and good books! Here’s to the last IMWAYR post of 2021!
Do you finish your year with a specific title? Or do you wait to start a book to begin the new year in a specific way?
Join Jen from Teach Mentor Texts and Kellee and Ricki from Unleashing Readers and share all of the reading you have done over the week from picture books to young adult novels. Check out the hashtag #IMWAYR for reading suggestions from readers across the globe.
