Storytime Theme: Snow
It never fails that when I do a snow-themed storytime that it’s either raining or one of the warmest days in winter. This year? It’s both! It started off rainy this morning and will be almost 70 degrees by this afternoon – in December. But as they say in the theatre, the show must go on!
I loved snow as a kid because as a kid, there is very little responsibility. And always a lot of fun in the end – snowball fights, sledding, and lots of hot chocolate! As an adult, I love the idea of snow – if I’m at home, have nowhere to be, and a neighbor is nice enough to snowplow my corner sidewalk. That doesn’t typically happen, so snow can be a bit of a menace now. But, there’s also something so magical about it too!
Today I want to share some books about snow, some great fingerplays and snows, and a few activities as well. Whether you’re a children’s librarian looking for some inspiration, a preschool teacher on the hunt for some new ideas for a lesson plan, or a family just looking for some great books and activities, you’ll definitely find something here that will inspire you!
