It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 11/1/2021
What I Read
Alright, everyone! I finally read more than a couple of chapters this week! I finished up Archibald Finch and the Lost Witches by Michel Guyon and although it stopped on a cliffhanger – I really enjoyed the story overall. It’s a fantasy middle grade book that you’ll hear more about later this week when I write up my review.
Then, I got Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto – a hilarious contemporary romance that has been described as Crazy Rich Asians meets Weekend at Bernie’s and I was all about it. I read it on my day off this week and enjoyed every second of it! It’s getting turned into a movie with Netflix and there’s a sequel coming out next year – Four Aunties and a Wedding.
I’m in the middle of Cece Rios and the Desert of Souls by Kaela Rivera and I already love where it’s going. I’m a huge fan of anything that has a folklore feel or fractured fairy tale situation. These are my absolute favorite reads of all time! And I’m already in love with Cece and her grit and determination to save her sister.
What I’m Planning to Read
Next up is Tips for Magicians by Celesta Rimington, I’ve been holding on to from the library. Then it’s a mad dash to read as much as I can before I release my gift guides for this year! What are some middle grade novels I’ve got to read before the end of the year? With how slow I’m reading right now, I’ve got to get my final list together early!
