It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 7/19/2021
What I Read
I have been so busy between work and trying to finish up home projects! By the time I get into bed at the end of the day, I can only manage a couple of pages before I’m falling asleep with the bedside light still on and the book propped up between my hands.
A quick home reno update (drumroll please!), we finally have air conditioning throughout the house! And with 90-degree heat and high humidity all summer long, it is a welcome relief! And I can’t say enough about the amazing work our HVAC guy did, everything was planned and executed flawlessly. He did everything in a very well-thought-out manner, asked our opinions when needed, and everything is put in so cleanly. So with that being done, we are moving forward with our bathroom renovation. We decided to install an in-wall medicine cabinet about our new vanity, so my partner has been spearheading that project all weekend long. We’re just waiting for some patchwork to dry so we can paint and install the new light and medicine cabinet. Then we’ll get the vanity installed and finally the towel racks and other accessories.
That being said, after working all week (and on Saturday), my reading life is definitely suffering! I was able to start Fable by Adrienne Young and I’m already loving the world-building, the intrigue, and the characters!
What I’m Planning to Read
My brother, sister-in-law, and my niece and nephew are coming out for the weekend, so my goal is to try and sneak in as much reading as I can between finishing up the bathroom and cleaning the house! My niece is turning 4 in September and my nephew will be 6 in October, so they’re at a really fun age right now. I’m hoping the weather holds out and isn’t too hot so we can go out and about. I promised my nephew that we could take the train into Philly almost two years ago and he hasn’t forgotten, so that is definitely on the agenda. Here’s hoping I can get some reading in before the weekend!
If I get a chance to finish up Fable, I want to read Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo next. Thankfully my hold came into the library, so it’s ready and waiting for me!
