What I Read
Hazel Bly and the Deep Blue Sea by Ashley Herring Blake was amazing! You can check out my review from earlier this week. I also finished up A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey. This was a fun YA book that I really enjoyed. It was a Reese Witherspoon YA Book Club pick and a lot of fun! I snuck in a contemporary romance (an actual adult book!) – The Ex Talk, which was like reading a really fun chick flick. It always seems that by mid-summer, I’m ready to switch up my reading a little before the fall publishing season gets underway.
What I’m Planning to Read
Right now, I’m in the middle of Take Me Home Tonight by Morgan Matson – it feels a little like Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, but with a lot more hijinks! I’ve also got Where the Rhythm Takes You by Sarah Dass and want to try and read Furia by Yamile Saied Méndez. This week our HVAC is getting installed at home and I’m working Saturday with lots of plans for the rest of the weekend, so we’ll see how much reading I can squeeze in!
