Four on Friday: Tails & Tales
This summer’s theme for many public libraries’ summer reading programs is Tails & Tales from the Collaborative Summer Library Program. Hence, my inspiration for today’s post – four titles all about tails! These are really interactive titles that work for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school age – it just depends on how you create the experience!
For the littlest of readers, you can easily create a storytime theme around tails. Preschool program idea? Take the time to ask why certain animals have specific tails or help them identify the tails in the stories. For elementary school age kids – take a trip around the world talking about different types of animals and what kind of tails they have. You could even ask kids what kind of tail they’d like to have!
