12 Kids’ Titles to Celebrate Pride Month
This list barely scratches the surface of great kids book for Pride Month. I wanted to make sure that I didn’t repeat titles from a book list I created a few years ago. I’m also going to preface this list with the fact that I don’t know all of the authors’ identities. Sometimes creators are very open about their personal lives, while others times it can be difficult to know an individual’s background. And that’s okay. But, what I do love is that there is more than just LGBTQ+ diversity in these books. I hate, that more often than not, books can be about one “type” of diversity, but not multiple. Characters can have a disability, but in most cases, they are also white. Characters can be biracial, but can’t identify as gay. We don’t live in such silos, the world is so diverse, in so many different ways and sometimes that diversity can also overlap!
