Top Ten Tuesday: Middle Grade Sports
Today is a Top Ten Tuesday: Freebie which is actually super scary! I have a hard enough time pulling together titles for themes, let alone choosing a theme AND picking titles! I was trying to think of something “summery” but I’ve already created a Middle Grade Summer Camp list, so I decided to go with sports instead!
As a kid, I tried a lot of different sports and I wasn’t great or even really good at any of them! I played soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball and I danced. Most lasted a season or two and although I’m super competitive, sports is not where I shine. I was much happier with a book in my hands sitting on the sidelines of one of my brothers’ soccer games. As a child of P.E. teachers, I may not like sports, but I’m still physically active on a regular basis mainly running and practicing yoga.
I tried to find a variety of sports, but there are a handful of baseball titles that work well for summer at least! I’m a big fan of sports books that also deal with other things going on in characters’ lives. This list also leans heavily to female protagonists, but if you’re looking for even more titles, check out this list of middle grade sports books I created a few years ago (they’re all still great books!).
