It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 5/31/2021

What I Read

Another week spent super productively, just not reading! I really need to start listening to more audiobooks! I got a lot of my emails cleaned out and my office looks pretty good for when I leave. Plus, in the midst of working and getting ready for my sister’s wedding, we also decided to spray foam insulate our attic which means I’m spending a good majority of my Memorial Day weekend going through boxes that were never unpacked when I moved into my house 7 years ago. Thankfully, a lot of the stuff is going straight to Goodwill, some will be thrown in the recycling bin, and other stuff needs a temporary home until we finish the attic.

The good news is that after the attic is insulated, we’re also getting an HVAC system. I’ve had enough of 100+ degree heat and high humidity! And the house will look so much nicer without window units all over the place. And, we’ll actually be able to host friends because the house will be so much more functional!

Again, spent very little time reading! I’m still working my way through Rea and the Blood of the Nectar by Payal Doshi, but every night I pick it up and usually fall asleep after a few pages. My goal is to finish it up in the next few days.

What I’m Planning to Read

I still have Glitter Gets Everywhere by Yvette Clark and The Shape of Thunder by Jasmine Warga which I’m hoping to get to this week, but it’s not looking great. I may have to circle back around to these. I’m taking my Kindle with me to get some reading done at my parents’. I’ve got a few titles I need to read for our summer book discussion series with our middle schoolers, so I’m going to try and tackle at least one of those!

Did you make any new reading plans or resolutions for the summer?
