Four on Friday: National Space Day

It’s National Space Day! Today we celebrate the achievements of mathematicians, scientists, and astronauts who have explored the final frontier.

Today I’m sharing four nonfiction (ish) books for different age groups. From board books to middle grade students, these are engaging titles that are sure to pique your child’s interest into outer space. But there are a ton of other options out there as well!

Maybe this summer, download a star app and check out the night skies. Research when the next meteor shower is and find an awesome place to watch the magic. Quick side story – my family often went camping when I was a child. One summer we were camping in a very rustic area, so the stars were really bright. There was a meteor shower that night and we all went to an open field and watched the show. It was AMAZING! If you’ve got older kids, read Hidden Figures and then have a movie night to compare!

Days like this one are a great way for kids to explore interests and career options! Learn more by stopping by your local library and browsing the 523 section (all things outer space)!
