Blogging A to Z 2021 Reflection

Blogging A to Z 2021 Reflection

Today I’m going to share a brief Blogging A to Z 2021 reflection on that past month of 26 blog posts all centered around one specific theme. My theme for the 2021 Blogging A to Z Challenge was one that I was really excited to work with. Having spent eight years as a children’s librarian, I love creating opportunities for kids to discover the joy of reading just for fun.

With 26 letters, I got the chance to really dive into early literacy skills and share a lot of great information. Great information, that many parents already inherently do, but I hope I gave you some additional information as to the why. Why are you reading aloud and singing and talking with your kids? Because all of these things, help kids strengthen their early literacy skills so they head to school ready to learn. And what better job can you have?

Below is a list of each letter and the corresponding early literacy tip. Click on any tip for more information about it, plus a 12 title list of great board books and picture books to share! There are over 300 different authors for you to get to know from these lists, so take time to explore them all. And, if your local library has a 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program – be sure to sign up because it’s super adorable!

For the month of April, I’ll be sharing early literacy tips and book lists as part of the Blogging A to Z Challenge. Learn about the importance of early literacy and ways to incorporate tips and tricks into your family’s daily routine. Developing language skills before kids head to school helps them to be ready to learn when they reach school-age. In addition to great content, you’ll also get a new book list for each letter, resulting in over 300 board book and picture book suggestions for your family to enjoy!
