Review:
If you’re looking for a Jaws-read-alike graphic novel this summer, you definitely need to pick this one up! As Hollywood rolls into Martha’s Vineyard for the summer to shoot a shark movie, Gayle unexpectedly find friendship. As she fills her summer shooting a film about the history of the island, she and her friends also stumble on some unexpected truth. Filled with some spooky thrills, readers will find this the perfect summer escape!
The art style was full of the bright, bold colors that I expect from a summer near the water. At times the scarier scenes had me turning the pages as fast I could. I needed to find out what was going to happen next. I loved the mix between current times and learning the history of the island. This is the perfect read for kids who love graphic novels, sharks, summer, baseball, movie monsters, and so much more!
Verdict:
A set-in-summer adventure/mystery graphic novel has all the buzz words you need to pick this up for the first day of summer vacation! Kids will love the action and mysteriousness with well-developed characters. Plus, that setting has me looking forward to beach days!
