Top Ten Tuesday: Books with Ocean Settings
So, I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really sure what this theme meant. The original theme was “Books I’d Gladly Throw Into the Ocean.” And I wasn’t sure if that meant in an “I don’t ever want to see this book again way” or something else. My partner suggested that I select a list of old classics that could be replaced with great new, diverse reads, but I had already created this list and I liked it too much to not use it! So, since I want to lift up great books, I decided to share books with ocean settings, all different from last week’s list that was also heavy on the setting near the water!
These books take place on or near the ocean, some on islands and some on ships. Some of these are realistic fiction, others have a touch of magical realism, while still others are full on fantasy titles. But, in all of them, the ocean plays an important role. Check out these ten books with ocean settings!

Lots of people have taken this approach to this week’s topic. I’m impressed with how many ocean and water-themed books are out there!
