Review:

This beautiful poem about the love parents have for their children would make a perfect baby shower gift. It very much reminded me of Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. But in a much less creepy way than the mother climbing in her adult child’s bedroom. I love the imagery of the dreams. One of my favorites was, “I’ll be a lighthouse and you’ll be a ship. You’ll set your sails and take a trip…”

I would be remiss if I didn’t dive into a discussion about the illustrations. Rafael López is a favorite illustrator of mine because he uses some amazing colors. Any time I want to frame illustrations on my wall as art, I know the artist must be doing something right. Combining Jessica’s words with Rafael’s art created an absolutely stunning book for families everywhere.

Verdict:

If you’re looking for a perfect baby shower gift you’ll definitely want I’ll Meet You In Your Dreams. This is a book that can be enjoyed over and over again. The child grows up throughout the story and I know parents will identify with the forever love they have with their own kids.
