It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 12/21/2020

What I Read

Two more checked off my list this week! Amari and the Night Brothers is the debut book by B. B. Alston bing published in January and it is amazing! It’s full of magic and adventure, intrigue, plot twists, family and friendship. Keep your eyes out for this one, you truly don’t want to miss it!

I also read Alone by Megan E. Freeman about a young girl who plans a secret sleepover, but when she wakes up her entire town is deserted. A novel-in-verse this story is about survival, loneliness, strength, and determination.

What I’m Planning to Read

I have one more NetGalley title right now to read – Clues to the Universe by Christina Li which is first up this week. Then I’ve got a host of 2020 middle grade novels that I didn’t get a chance to read and I’ll pick and choose what I want for the rest of the holiday week.

My list includes:

  • The List of Things That Will Not Change by Rebecca Stead
  • Efrén Divided by Ernesto Cisneros
  • Prairie Lotus by Linda Sue Park
  • The Canyon’s Edge by Dusti Bowling
  • Stand Up, Yumi Chung! by Jessica Kim
  • American as Paneer Pie by Supriya Kelkar
  • Twilight Hauntings by Angie Sage
  • We Dream of Space by Erin Entrada Kelly
  • Tune It Out by Jamie Sumner
  • What Lane? by Torrey Maldonado
  • The Magnificent Monsters of Cedar Street by Lauren Oliver
  • The Lonely Heart of Maybelle Lane by Kate O’Shaugnessy
  • Land of the Cranes by Aida Salazar
  • A Thousand Questions by Saadia Faruqi

Obviously I’m not going to read 15 books this week, but I’m excited to have a huge pile to pick from and I can’t wait to jump in!

What are your reading plans to finish out 2020?
