It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 11/30/2020
What I Read
Can I have just a few more days of my holiday weekend? As weird as it was to not have our typical weekend full of traditions with extended family, it was so nice to just relax a little bit. With how crazy work has been, it was really nice to sit and read, decorate the house for the holidays, and take a couple of naps.
I had planned on participating in the Stay Home, Read More challenge this weekend, but decided against it. I didn’t want to put any pressure on myself for one more thing right now and I think I might the right decision.
Rather than reading from my TBR list (which I tried), I grabbed a few contemporary romances from work as I was leaving on Wednesday and read those instead!
I read the first 50 pages or so of Everything Sad Is Untrue by Daniel Nayeri and just couldn’t get into it, so I’m going to put it aside and try again at another time. I skipped Accidental by Alex Richards because I just wanted some reading “fluff” right now – nothing too heavy. I did read The Time of Green Magic by Hilary McKay which was an interesting story of family and magic.
I then rapid-fire read The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon, You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle, and Finding Christmas by Karen Schaler. Honestly, it was the perfect choice!
What I’m Planning to Read
I’ve got a bunch of reviews that I want to finish up over the next few weeks, so I’m going to try and read a few of these titles to get ready for reviews. I started Eleanor, Alice, and the Roosevelt Ghosts by Dianne K. Salerni last night and I’m already enjoying it. I’d also like to tackle The Puffin Plan: Restoring Seabirds to Egg Rock and Beyond by Derrick Z. Jackson and Stephen Kress and Loretta Little Looks Back: Three Voices Go Tell It by Andrea Davis Pinkney.
