Four on Friday: World Children’s Day
Today is World Children’s Day, an international holiday created by the United Nations in 1954. It is celebrated “each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.”
How do we celebrate World Children’s Day? How do I pick only four titles to share on a holiday that celebrates kids being kids. I decided to go with books filled with love, compassion, and empathy. It is my wish that every child on this planet feels a love like the ones illustrated in these stories. Is it a realistic wish? Sadly, no. But, it’s a wish nonetheless.
If you’ve got a little one in your life, take a few extra minutes to cuddle today so they know without a shadow of a doubt that you love them unconditionally. And send a little of that love into the world, we all know how much the world needs a little extra love right now. I know I’ll be sending my love to my niece and nephew and all the little ones of my cousins and friends
