Celebrating Poetry through Picture Books
There is no better time than when your child is young to introduce them to poetry. Songs are basically poems set to music and kids LOVE songs! Today I’m sharing 12 picture books celebrating poetry!
Poetry is not uncommon in picture books because children love sounds and rhyme and rhythm anyway. If you pay close attention many of the books you are already reading are very poetic in nature.
I found some books that really focus on poetry as the format, while others are just fun stories that also happen to be poems. No matter what type of books your kids gravitate to, I’m sure you can find some poetry to share as well!
