Review
I’ll start my review by saying I love when Susan and Peter work together! With beautiful books like I Am Yoga and I Am Human, I know I can count on them to create not only beautiful but moving books that are great read alouds and so inspiring.
That being said, I expected nothing less from I Am One which is such a timely topic for kids. Kids, like adults, want to make a difference in their world, but sometimes challenges can seem SO big. This book shows how taking just one step, saying just one word, listening to just one person can begin to make a change. What I love even more is that Susan also includes a mindfulness exercise that an adult and child can do together to help start their practice of taking action.
I love Peter’s use of a rainbow of colors to create gorgeous illustrations that pair so perfectly with Susan’s words. Plus, I know that Peter always creates such inclusive characters, it’s beautiful to see.
If you’ve got a kid who wants to do something BIG, but isn’t quite sure how to get started, check out I Am One: A Book of Action!
