Storytime Theme: Sheep
Amidst all the craziness of trying to run a library without being in a physical building, with staff working from home with varying degrees of technology available, I’ve gotten the chance to do more digital storytime for our library’s Facebook page.
Due to copyright law and whether or not reading books online requires permission from publishers or is considered fair use. I won’t share the actual video, but I will share these adorable storytime books all about sheep and lambs today! This is a perfect storytime for a younger crowd as these books are pretty short and very interactive!
Storytime Theme: Sheep Books
Welome Song: Bread & Butter
Bread and butter
Marmalade and Jam
Let’s say hello as quiet as we can (whisper: hello)
…loud as we can
…slow as we can
…fast as we can
…high as we can
…low as we can
…nice as we can (big smile!)
Book: Sheep Take a Hike by Nancy T. Shaw, illustrated by Margot Apple
Transition: Because we’re not including music (copyright concerns), I just had the kid do some quick stretches at home.
Book: Wee Little Lamb by Lauren Thompson, illustrated by John Butler
Transition: A few more stretches here!
Book: Where Is the Green Sheep? by Mem Fox, illustrated by Judy Horacek
If you’re looking for more options to include in your sheep storytime, I have an older Sensory Storytime focused on sheep or check out Jen in the Library for more ideas!
